The Makeovers

What a difference a day makes!

Rosemary, retired.

Rosemary had recently recovered from a serious illness and was feeling in need of a lift. She has a trim figure, but lives in jeans and t-shirts, usually black, and wears little or no make-up. Rosemary wanted a smart outfit for church, and also something glamorous but comfortable for a special event. Sarah ditched the black and showed Rosemary how soft, cool colours complemented her delicate colouring and chose tactile, touchy-feely fabrics that were in tune with Rosemary's caring nature. Sarah also showed Rosemary how just a tiny bit of lipstick and eyeshadow could really bring her face to life.

DEE DEE LOMAX, 46, HOTELIER

Dee Dee has recently lost eight stones in weight, but was struggling to shed her 80s style clothes which made her appear far older than her years.

Sarah updated Dee Dee’s wardrobe, adding lots of vibrant colour to suit her dramatic looks and lively personality, and also advised a funky new haircut with plum highlights.

Sarah chose a few key pieces, particularly a black leather biker-style jacket that was hard-wearing, could be thrown on with anything but still looked smart. She showed Dee Dee how fluid, wide leg trousers really flattered her shape and that keeping styles simple while adding bold touches was the key to a modern, sexy look.

Dee Dee said: “I wouldn’t have had the courage to do this on my own but Sarah has helped me break out of a rut. I wish I had met her years ago – even before I lost the weight. Wearing the right colours and shapes can make you feel a million dollars, whatever your size.”
